Special edition road bikes that incorporate racetrack developed technologies are nothing new, but the latest Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE indeed has the spirit of a winner. Inspired from Max Biaggi’s WSBK 2010 winning machine, the bike incorporates a new electronic management system that includes traction control, wheelie control, launch control and quick shift.

This machine aims to be the perfect tool for riders who demand top track performance from their bikes.

The APRC designation is short for Aprilia Performance Ride Control, which uses an automotive inertial platform with two turn meters and two accelerometers that enable the ECU to track dynamic conditions and adjust engine control consequently.

The electronic system comprises Aprilia Traction Control (ATC, with 8 settings, selectable via a joystick mounted on the left handlebar!), Aprilia Wheelie Control (AWC, with three settings), Aprilia Launch Control (ALC, with three settings) and Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS, which allows the rider to shift gears without using the clutch and without closing the throttle).

The special edition RSV4 is fitted with the first V-4 engine ever in a sports production bike, Ride By Wire, dual display mode for instrument panel display: ROAD and RACE, a lighter exhaust system, and homologated new-generation extra performance dual blend 200/55 Pirelli tires, among others.

Key features of the newly developed RSV4 APRC SE road bike include:
  • APRC fitted as standard
  • Fuel system with variable length intake ducts
  • Advanced exhaust butterfly valve management
  • 3-point adjustable chassis
  • Ohlins fully adjustable front fork
  • Ohlins fully adjustable shock absorber
  • Ohlins adjustable steering damper
  • Wheel rims in forged aluminium
  • Carbon parts
  • Special Tricolour livery
