The annual award recognizes vehicles that register the highest scores for protecting passengers in the Institute’s front, side and rear crash test evaluations, as well as the newly required roof-strength test.

The Jetta SportWagen comes equipped as standard with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), Engine Braking Assist (EBA), ESP, up to eight airbags (depending on model), and others. The 2010 Volkswagen line-up comes with a wide array of standard safety features, included in Volkswagen’s Prevent and Preserve Safety System. This includes a total of 40 features.
