2010 Toyota 4Runner Pricing Unchanged

The 2010 Toyota 4Runner will be offered with the same price tags as the 2009 model, as the Japanese parent company is trying to increase sales of the new version. The revised 4Runner, which will be unveiled in Dallas next week, is projected to go on sale in the United States next month. It will be manufactured at Toyota's Tahara factory in Japan, according to a report by Reuters.

Llittle is known at this time about the car as the company preferred to tease us every once in a while with a new photos showing a minor part of the car.

Dealers were informed about the new pricing strategy this week in Las Vegas, the aforementioned source noted. However, representatives of the Japanese carmaker refused to comment on the decision.

The unchanged pricing is basically a result of the declining sales the 4Runner brought in the last few months. In August for example sales of the SUV fell 63 percent, in spite of the $28,640 price set by Toyota.

According to some early media reports, the Japanese carmaker will update the trim levels and equipment, as the 2010 4Runner will be based on more premium materials and advanced features. For example, it is expected to be offered with keyless ignition, GPS navigation and Bluetooth support. As for the engines to be fitted on the car, early reports are pointing to a 2.7-liter four-cylinder unit offered as standard and developing 161 horsepower. A 4.0-liter V6 configuration might be available as well, with maximum output going around 258 horsepower.
