2010 Tata Indigo MANZA Launched in India

The new generation Tata Indigo Manza sedan has just been launched in India, featuring a completely new body, platform, interior and exterior styling. The new sedan is much bigger in size and interior space, as it measures more than 4.4 m in length, a width of 1.7 m, and a wheel base of 2,520 mm.

“The Indigo Manza is a modern, contemporary sedan on a new car platform that has the potential to emerge as a class leader,”
said Ratan N. Tata, Chairman, Tata Sons and Tata Motors, at the launching event.

Among the exterior styling highlights are the three barreled headlamps at the front and the large 15 wheels, as well as the chrome inserts on the rub rails and outer door handles. The new look is completed by the monolithic angular shaped tail lamps at the rear.

Inside, the Indigo Manza boasts a two-tone fabric cabin, a tilt adjustable power steering with a height adjustable driver seat, as well as electronically adjustable and controlled Outer Rear View Mirrors. The fuel consumption and ambient temperature is displayed on the information system placed on top of the central console.

A 2 DIN Music System offers connectivity with a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity through the Blue5 feature, while the audio controls of the music system are mounted on the steering wheel.

Safety features include a collapsible steering column, ABS and Dual Frontal Airbags amongst others. Instead of the usual red line on the tachometer, the Critical Rev Indicator needle turns red when the engine crosses a critical RPM. The engine imobilizer and the central locking feature are conveniences for additional security.

Powering the new Indigo Manza are the 90 hp Quadrajet Diesel and Safire Petrol engines, sourced from Fiat, configured using a Continuous Variable Cam Phaser. The Safire engine is electronically controlled by an Intelligent Port Resizer (IPR) function, while the Quadrajet diesel engine features a Variable Geometry Turbocharger.
