2010 Skoda Superb Combi Released

Czech carmaker Skoda has just rolled out photos and details of the new Superb Combi which will also attend the Frankfurt Auto Show that opens its doors to the press tomorrow. The new mid-size station wagon, also known as Estate in some markets, will be offered with several engine options, either gasoline or diesels, with outputs ranging from 125 hp to 170 hp. As for displacement, most of the units will be in the 1.4l range, with a top of the line 3.6l V6, developing 260 hp rumored to complete the line-up. According to carbl.com, the Skoda Superb Estate boasts the same length, wheelbase and width as the base Superb but obviously comes with a larger trunk with a volume of 633 liters (68 liters more than the sedan). The car is expected to go on sale in Europe in the early months of 2010. "The car is a logical continuation of the Superb model series and offers an ideal combination of practicality and elegance. The estate version follows on from the hatchback, the current generation of which has found more than forty-two thousand owners, in just over a year since it was launched," Skoda said in a release in late August when releasing the first teaser with the car. As said, the first public display of the car will take place at the Frankfurt Auto Show so all details will surface in a few days. autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
