2010 SEMA: Chevy Unveils Two Custom Silverados

Chevrolet unveiled two custom Silverado pick-ups at SEMA this week. Based on the redesigned 2011 Silverado the two heavy-duty pick-up trucks demonstrated the personalization possibilities of the new HD lineup.

The first one is a 2500HD Z71 that features unique exterior upgrades like a new grille that matches the body color, roof lights, a folding tonneau cover and 20-inch wheels painted Corvette Competition Gray and fitted with heavy-duty off-road tires. Six-inch oval assist steps were fitted to the sides and painted to match the vehicle's wheels.

Its cabin is upholstered with two-tone leather and painted trim. An in-car entertainment system complete with USB, Bluetooth and WiFI connectivity was added meet all your communication needs.

The second highlight from Chevrolet is a Silverado 3500HD Race hauler that's been wrapped in custom graphics emphasized by chrome ornaments. A full-width toolbox is integrated in
the trucks bed and 17 inch alloy wheels replace the old ones.

The interior is dressed up in ebony leather and piano-black trim.

Power is provided by 6.6 liter Duramax V8 turbodiesel engines producing 397 hp and 765 lb-ft (1036 Nm) of torque. That might just be enough torque to tow a small jet airplane to the runway, although this mechanical marvel wasn't built to be a record-breaker, but merely a tool for the racing competitions enthusiast.

"A Chevy race car being towed by a new Silverado HD truck is a combination any enthusiast would love to call his own. The 2011 Silverado 3500HD can tow up to 21,700 pounds, so a race car on an open trailer is no sweat." said lead designer Paul Arnon .
