Ladies and Gentlemen, we present you the largest vehicle in Lotus’ Paris Auto Show concept bouquet: the Eterne.

We are talking about a four-door coupe that will become a competitor for vehicles like the Aston Martin Rapide and the Porsche Panamera.

"A sports car by definition can’t be graceful. Powerful, exciting, aggressive yes, but not graceful. Yet here it is, the ultimate paradox - the Eterne. Power and grace, performance and elegance, beauty and strength all in one stunning package," stated the press release.

The premium saloon, which offers seating for four, is powered by a 5.0 liter unit that uses forced induction to develop 620 hp and a maximum torque of 720 Nm. The UK automotive producer also offers an optional hybrid gearbox that brings integrated electric motors and a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS). If you tick this option box, the engine will only emit 220 grams of CO2 per km.

The powerplant sends the power to the rear wheels, but customers can also choose an all-wheel-drive-system. The engine manages to send the 1,800 kg of the car past the 62 mph mark in 4 seconds flat and on to a top speed of 195 mph (315 km/h).

The vehicle will enter production and become available in the first months of 2015 for a price of around 120,000 pounds (EUR139,500 or $190,500).

"The Eterne is sensational to look and as with the rest of the range it also over delivers in all other aspects as well. Similar to the Elite, it’s a car of perfect contradictions, it’s compact yet spacious, high performing yet low emitting, relative lightweight yet still reassuringly solid,” said Dany Bahar, Chief Executive Officer of Group Lotus.
