“This new Continental takes its design inspiration from the original GT which in turn was inspired by the 1950s R-Type Continental but moves the story on. Signature styling cues remain but the sculptured new body, produced using the latest construction techniques, delivers even crisper, more highly defined feature lines and form to every area of the exterior design. The GT’s new look is bolder and more athletic than ever before,” stated the press release.
The 2011 Bentley Continental GT comes with an upgraded W12 engine that delivers 575hp and a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) that has been tweaked to deliver improved acceleration times throughout the rev range.
The vehicle offers improved interior space, with an additional 46mm of legroom for the backseat passengers and comes with a 30GB infotainment system that offers touchscreen technology.
The vehicle has a starting price of 135,760 pounds ($189,900 or EUR154,600 at the current exchange rates). The first customers will receive their vehicles in the first quarter of next year.
