The Paris Auto Show has gathered both some of the most exciting models of the current and future years and all the hopes of the carmakers that the vehicles they present there will mean something for the industry and their sales figures in the future.

For Chevrolet, the event is of particular significance, as it has brought to France all of its European market power. That includes the Aveo model, one for which the carmaker has high hopes on the Old Continent.

The car, already displayed at the Geneva Auto Show earlier this year, will greet its customers next year with four cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The lineup includes a 1.2l engine (86 hp) and a 1.4l unit (100 hp) and, for the first time, two versions of a 1.3l diesel engine (75 hp and 95 hp) with Start/Stop technology.

The new Aveo has changed much for the new generation, bringing exposed twin-headlamps and dual port grille, compact taut body panels with a rising shoulder line and short rear overhangs. Hidden rear door handles also made it into production.

"It's just such an exciting time to be at Chevrolet; not only do we have new entries into the MPV and compact classes, in Aveo we have a car which is ready to compete against the best in the small car segment, which is also Europe's largest segment," said Wayne Brannon, president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe, when the presence of the car in Paris was announced..

The prices for the model will be released closer to the launch date.
