2010 Opel Astra Official Teasers Rolled Out

The new 2010 Opel Astra, which is very likely to be released at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, has just been teased again, with Astra's Lead Designer Marc van der Haegen and Engineering Coordinator Laszlo Kreth starring in a bunch of new photos with the redesigned Astra. Contrary to the unofficial photos we told you about some time ago, this time it appears we're dealing with images showing the production model, with the two officials hiding main parts of the car with what seem to be new design sketches.

Obviously, there's not much to notice in these photos, as they are mainly supposed to only give us a glimpse into how the future model will look like.

Details are still sketchy at this time but according to several media reports, the new Opel Astra range, which is going to be sold in the United Kingdom under the Vauxhall brand, will rely on several gasoline and diesel engines. The guys over at Carscoop report that the upcoming Astra will also feature a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol configuration that will be available in various flavors, with multiple output versions.

Obviously, the Opel Performance Center will do what they do best and will launch their very own version of 2010 Opel Astra OPC developing much more power than the standard model. According to the aforementioned source, the OPC is going to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine that will generate around 240 horsepower and will be mainly supposed to compete with the last-generation Golf GTI.

As you can see, all we have here are only rumors so we just have to wait until the German brand, which is now fighting for life in Europe, will rolled out some official specs.
