2010 National Tire Safety Week, Set for June

The ninth annual National Tire Safety Week will take place next year in June, between 6 and 12, as the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) announced today.

During the Tire Week (part of RMA's "Be Tire Smart - Play Your PART" program), tire manufacturers and others involved with the industry will work with customers to teach them proper tire maintenance.

If you're wondering why the need for such a thing, RMA says because, following a a survey of more than 5,400 vehicles, it was found that almost half of them were on the road with at least one under inflated tire.

Teaching the hows and whys will be industry representatives from AAA, American Car Care Centers, Automotive Service Excellence, Big 10 Tires, Belle Tire, Big O Tires, Costco, Discount Tire, Dunn Tire, Expert Tire, Firestone Complete Auto Care, GCR Tire Centers, Goodyear Auto Centers, Hyundai Motor America, Just Tires, Kaufman Tire, Les Schwab, Merchant's Tire, Motorist Assurance Program, Recreational Vehicle Safety & Education Foundation, National Tire and Battery, NADA, Northwest Tire, Peerless Tires, Pep Boys, Sears Automotive Centers, STS Tire and Auto Centers, Sullivan Tire and Auto Service, Tire Factory, Tire Industry Association, Tire Kingdom, Tire One, Tires Plus, Tire Warehouse, Town Fair Tires, VIP Parts, Tires and Service, Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Express and many others.
