The total weight of the new Aero is minimal, thanks to the use of aircraft style super-formed aluminum outer panels, as well as the way they were bound together, by the use of adhesives. The technology used on the anniversary model is the one introduced in the AeroMax coupes built in 2008 and 2009.
"The Morgan Aero SuperSports is a luxurious flamboyant sports car which also remains true to Morgan’s philosophy of lightweight minimalist simplicity. It is a celebration of our love of cars and the romance of travel and is a fitting model to announce during Morgan’s Centenary year,” Charles Morgan said in a release.
The new Morgan creation was designed by Matthew Humphries and was engineered for production by the Morgan design team. The Aero SuperSports will enter production sometimes in 2010, but as often is the case with limited edition vehicles, buyers already have the means to place orders for the car.
The estimated price tag for the SuperSports is £127,000, VAT included. Those who have an empty spot in the garage and enough money in their accounts can place an order for the car only after they make a £25,000 deposit.
