The new luxury limousine Hyundai has prepared for us showed its shapes for the first time, as the car was officially unveiled for journalists in Korea, before the 2009 Geneva Show, ohmynews.com. The New Equus is the first incursion of the Korean manufacturer into the big boys' world, represented by Mercedes S-Klasse, BMW 7 Series and Lexus LS.
The first 2010 Equus versions will be equipped with one of two engines, either a 3.8-liter Lambda V6 or a 4.6-liter V8. A later version will benefit from the 5.0l V8 engine, capable of putting out 420 horsepower.
The 2010 Hyundai Equus luxury sedan will feature Pre-Safe seatbelts, LED headlights, Lane Departure Warning System and Vehicle Stability Management II. The interior of the car is partially based on wood, fitted on the doors and the right part of the dashboard.
The next generation Equus is set to make its dealership debut in early March. The bad news for those of you who set your eyes on the new limo is that the car will be available for the Korean market only. If you live elsewhere, you could end up waiting for the car until sometimes in early 2010.
Plenty of time for you to save some money. The top version, powered by the 5l V8, will cost about $96,000. For the US market, the new model will most likely be named Genesis Prestige, inspired by the good reviews its little brother had lately.
The Equus will be available for touch, look and feel at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show.
