2010 Hyundai Elantra Pricing Released

South Korean manufacturer Hyundai announced pricing for the Elantra Blue, a 2010 version of the good old Elantra, boasting improved fuel efficiency: 35 mpg (6.7l/100 km). The main differences between the Blue and its previous versions are the addition of a "smart" alternator management system, lower friction engine components, revised transmission gear ratios and engine calibration changes.

To the point, the new Elantra will be priced at $14,145, for the Blue version equipped with a 2.0l engine and five-speed manual transmission. The GLS equipped with the same engine (available for the entire range) and a four speed automatic transmission is priced at $16,895, while the SE with the same engine/transmission choices comes at $17,845.

The Blue trim level brings six airbags, ABS, 4-wheel disc brakes, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), active front head restraints and adjustable head restraints for all seating positions. Power heated mirrors, remote keyless entry with alarm and trunk release, air conditioning and iPod USB inputs are also available.

The GLS trim brings with it the Comfort package with dual front illuminated vanity mirrors with sunvisor extensions, fog lights and a windshield shade band. There is only one extra option available, the sunroof, for $900.

The last of the trim levels, the SE, adds a bit of a sporty flavor to the not-so-track-oriented Elantra. It boasts Traction Control and Brake Assist, 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/55R16 tires, sport-tuned steering and suspension, leather shift knob, telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel audio controls and trip computer. For an extra $1,150, customers also get a power sunroof and heated front seats.
