Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) has just announced an upgrade for the popular ZR1 sports car that brings styling, aerodynamic and engineering upgrades. Before rushing into details, find out that HPE will only build 24 copies of this limited edition Corvette ZR1 for the 2010 model year, with each buyer receiving a 1-day of performance driving instruction in the car at Hennessey’s own private test track, Lonestar Motorsports Park.
Thanks to a wide array of modifications, the engine develops a maximum output of 705 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 717 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm. This means the car can jump from 0 to sixty in 2.9 seconds and reach 100 mph in 6.4 seconds.
Among the package highlights, we can mention supercharger enhancements - which bring a power boost of 15 psi, intercooler system upgrades, air induction improvements, Hennessey lightweight carbon fiber wheels - 19x10.5 inches at the front and 19x12.5 inches at the rear, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires - 265/35-YR19 at the front and 325/35-YR19 at the rear, 5-point harnesses with harness bar, Alcantara steering wheel and shift knob, lowered factory suspension, corner weighted with 4-wheel alignment, Sparco carbon fiber seats in Alcantara (driver and passenger) and the obvious Limited Edition serial numbered plaque.
There are several optional upgrades, as it follows: a tweak that raises the maximum output to 755 bhp or even to 1,000 bhp, custom exterior colors and custom interior upgrades and colors.
