Lexus has released a teaser image of the upcoming Lexus CT 200h, which will have its world premiere at the Geneva Auto Show, next month.
The car will be based on the LF-Ch Concept, introduced at last year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. It is expected to be a hatchback which will enter the European market to compete with other premium compacts, such as the BMW 1 Series or the Audi A3. The vehicle is expected to feature the same powertrain as the second generation ToyotaPrius: a 1.8 liter gasoline engine assisted by an electric motor delivering a total output of 134 HP.
This is how Lexus describes the upcoming car in a press release: “Created for motorists who want to lower their emissions, but not their standards, the CT 200h will be the first full hybrid vehicle in the premium compact segment. It will offer new levels of refinement, sophistication and attention to detail, without compromising style or driving pleasure,”
The new car will join the RX 450h, GS 450h and LS 600h models to complete Lexus’ premium hybrid range. The car will be displayed at the Geneva Auto Show, where the company’s LF-A supercar will also be present.
autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
