Although Renault uses every occasion to promote its green range - which by the way will arrive on the market in 2011, the French manufacturer brought at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show the new Wind, a new two-seater coupe-roadster.

Due to go on sale in Europe this summer, Renault Wind measures 3.83 meters in length, which could prove to be quite a solution for you ladies, especially in the crowded cities we're driving in these days. But don't get us wrong, we're not trying to suggest that the Wind is a woman's car, and we fully agree with Renault's statement that says the car is "practical enough for everyday use".

There will two engines available across the range, as follows: a 1.6-liter 16V developed by Renault Sport Technologies that produces 133 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque plus a 1.2-liter turbocharged unit that puts out 100 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque.

The biggest star is however the removable roof that, according to Renault, can be retracted in just 12 seconds. "That's twice as fast as the norm for its class," Renault says, although it's quite weird hearing that since most convertible makers are praising their cars for this particular aspect.

Nevertheless, getting over this glossy description, the Wind comes with a Clio-sized capacity, meaning that it provides 270 cubic dm of boot space.

Standard features include the following:

  • Remote central locking
  • Cruise control with speed limiter
  • Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors
