2010 Geneva Auto Show: Renault Megane GT and GT Line

The Renault Megane range will receive a sporty extension at the Geneva Auto Show, through the introduction of two new performance-inspired models, the Megane GT and the Megane GT Line.

The two versions have been developed by Renault Sport and are aimed at extending the availability of the Renault performance vehicles - the company wants to offer a sport driving experience to a wider range of drivers.

The GT and GT Line can be chosen for the hatchback, coupe, estate and coupe-cabriolet versions of the Megane and offer features like a tweaked sports chassis, redesigned front and rear bumper and bespoke badging. The car’s interiors features sport seats borrowed from the Megane RS that offer a high level of lateral support and come with specific GT upholstery. This are accompanied by a dark charcoal interior finish that features polished carbon highlights. The driver receives an aluminum pedal set.

The GT, superior to the GT Line, rides on 18 inch Jetow wheels and features chassis components borrowed form the Megane RS. It can only be ordered with two engines: the TCe 180 petrol engine and the dCi 160 diesel unit.

The GT Line has been created starting from the Dynamique equipment level and uses 17 inch Celsium alloy rims. It is available with a wide range of engines, including the dCi 110 DPF engine. The latter can be mated to Renault’s new EDC dual clutch automatic gearbox.

The first GT and GT Line Megane cars will enter the market in June.
