2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport New Official Photos

Chevrolet last week presented the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport at the 12th annual C5/C6 Corvette Birthday Bash, held at the National Corvette Museum, in Bowling Green, Ky. but only a single picture was provided at that time. The manufacturer today launched a couple of new photos showing the model which is going to be powered by a 6.2-liter unit that will produce 430 horsepower (321 kW) and 424 lb-ft (575 Nm) of torque.

For those of you who are looking for more performance, Chevrolet will also debut a two-mode exhaust system capable of raising the overall output level to as high as 436 horsepower (325 kW) and 428 lb-ft (580 Nm) of torque.

In addition to all these features, the Grand Sport will rely on two different transmission types, a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic. Among the other features of the car we can mention front and rear power-assistend disc brakes with ABS, electronic traction control with Active Handling, composite and carbon-fiber body panels and hydroformed steel frame.

There will be several upgrades available, including 18-inch front and 19-inch wheels; painted finish standard and chrome finish optional, Z06-size brakes, including 14-inch (355 mm) front rotors with six-piston calipers and 13.4-inch (340 mm) rear rotors with four-piston calipers, Z06-style front splitter and tall rear spoiler and 75/35ZR18 tires in front and 325/30ZR19 tires in the rear.

The car will be offered in two body configurations, coupe and convertible and is expected to go on sale later this year though Chevrolet's authorized dealership network.
