The three trim levels offered by the 2010 Camaro, LS, LT and SS, come in several engine choices. the most powerful of all being fitted onto the SS, a 6.2l V8 powerplant, which develops 400 horsepower.
Boasting a rear wheel drive platform, the new Camaro is the product of an American-Australian joint effort. The design, reminiscent of the original concept produced from 1967 through 1969, is a two-door sports coupe, featuring its classic proportions over a 112.3 inch (2,852 mm) wheelbase. The overall length of the Camaro is 190.4 inches (4,836 mm); width and height are 75.5 inches (1,918 mm) and 54.2 inches (1,376 mm), respectively.
The new Camaro is equipped as standard with 18 inch wheels, but also offers the option of fitting 19 inch or 20 inch wheels. All versions feature the “V” design trademark in the nose, along with a 2.5 inch (63.5 mm) power dome in the aluminum hood.
Camaro comes in ten exterior colors Black, Victory Red, Rally Yellow, Silver Ice Metallic, Cyber Gray Metallic, Aqua Blue Metallic, Inferno Orange Metallic, White and Imperial Blue Metallic and Red Jewel Tincoat.
The interior of the new model was designed to be as functional as it gets. The instrument panel gauges, recessed into the dashboard, include both speedometer and engine rpm. In the middle, a driver information center gives readouts and features controlled via a stalk on the steering column.
All versions make use of a three-spoke steering wheel, with manual tilt-telescope adjustment. Leather is available for both LT and SS versions, in black, gray or beige color.
Prices for the 2010 Camaro start at $29,775 (for the LS) and go as far as $34,180 for the 2SS version. Of course, these are starting prices that will surely be left behind if one chooses to use the comprehensive lineup of compatible accessories offered by the manufacturer.
