American sports and muscle car tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) has announced it has begun production of their newest Camaro, dubbed the HPE550. The rather sad news is that the tuner will build their version of the 2010 Camaro in no more than 500 units.
The Camaro will be powered by a 6.2l V8 engine, boosted by a 6 psi supercharger, while the exhaust used by the engine is dealt with by a Corsa stainless steel exhaust system. Thanks to them, the unit develops 562 bhp and 557 lb.-ft of torque, more than enough to make it "beam" from naught to sixty in 4.1 seconds.
Besides the engine tweaks, Hennessey will also offer some additional upgrades, ranging from suspensions to floor mats. The Camaro will feature lightweight 20-inch wheels, an adjustable coil-over suspension system, HPE550 embroidered seat headrests and a Hennessey graphics package and premium floor mats.
“The HPE550 upgrade package gives 2010 Camaro owners the kind of power and performance they want to match the true muscle car look and spirit of the new Camaro,” John Hennessey, company's CEO said.
“We will also be offering an extensive list of aftermarket performance parts and accessories for the 2010 Camaro. From mild to wild, new Camaro owners will be able to order air induction systems, exhaust and header systems, as well as complete supercharger systems, suspension kits and more.”
The 2010 Camaro HPE550 can be already ordered, but you should get a move on...16 units of the thing have already been sold (remember, there are only 500).
If that's not enough for you, Hennessey promises they will offier an even more powerfull package, developing up to – hold on to you chair – 1,000 hp...
