To refresh your memory, the 2010 LaCrosse officially came out at the 2009 North American International Show held in Detroit in January and offers a wide array of new features, including redesigned engines and upgraded safety equipment. For example, the car now includes a 3.0-liter SIDI V6 engine as well as a 2.4-liter ECOTEC unit, both of them mated to a six-speed auto-manual transmission.
“The new LaCrosse is a big departure from anything we’ve seen before from Buick,” said Michael Stapleton, Design Manager at GM’s Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) joint venture in Shanghai. “It really breathes elegance.”
Inside, the car comes with two-tone interior, analog instrument cluster, dark wood accents and French stitching on the instrument panel. Interior noise has been reduced using Buick's advanced QuietTuning technology, according to an official release by the automaker.
“The feeling of the interior is this delicate, beautiful flower that has a structure embedded inside of it that gives it a feeling of elegance and refinement,” said Stapleton.
Last but not least, the car relies on an impressive number of next-gen technologies, such as in-dash navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, an auxiliary audio input, an USB port, a power rear-window sunshade plus DVD entertainment system as well as two display screens mounted into the seatbacks.
“Throughout the design, you experience a balance of contrasts. Both the interior and exterior have been designed with harmony in mind. The exterior balances taut, sculpted lines with sensuous accents and surfaces. Inside, smoked chrome accents, warm wood, first-class leather and materials combine with cool blue ambient lighting to create an inviting environment," Ed Welburn, Vice President of GM Global Design, concluded.
