Although the car was supposed to do another off-road session after the 2-3 spare hours we've been given to visit Swakopmund, plans were canceled due to the fact that the cars' washing took much more than predicted. We all headed towards Okapuka, as we were scheduled to fly home the next day.
We had lunch in Swakopmund and, while on the road, we had the chance to see the Mercedes team test-driving the future ML in Namibia. The spyshots are also available here.
We finally made the last tour in the farm to say goodbye to all the wild animals but, due to the fact that we were more than exhausted, we decided to take a several-hour nap on a chaise longue near the pool.
At 5.00 p.m. all participants left for the airport, with the same thought on everyone's mind: we must come back here with our families!
At the airport, a 10 Namibian dollars (1 Euro) "donation" brought us an empty middle seat in the airplane, so sleeping was our main activity on the flight back home.
That being said, I hope you enjoyed our trip as much as we did and, if you ever have the chance to do such a thing, be sure not to miss the occasion. It's just a dream come true...
See you next year on the Ice Lakes of Sweden!

DAY 9 – HOME SWEET HOME
Our plane was scheduled to take off at 9 p.m. but we had to check out at 10.00 a.m., as a new series of participants were about to land. Of course, we felt like homeless people for the whole day, but we still had all inclusive access to the bar and food.We finally made the last tour in the farm to say goodbye to all the wild animals but, due to the fact that we were more than exhausted, we decided to take a several-hour nap on a chaise longue near the pool.
