After earlier this week we gave you the official information and pricing for the new BMW 5 Series, the single question remaining about the sedan was what price tag will it wear. So far, prices have been made available for the UK market, with the US ones still some week away.
For the British market, the increase in price is not as substantial as expected, BMWblog reports. The entry level 5 series, the 523i SE with manual transmission has a base price of £30,560, while the top of the range 550i with automatic transmission is priced at £49,440.
The new 5 series, powered by a range of one eight-cylinder and three six-cylinder petrol engines, as well as by two six-cylinder diesel powerplants, is comprised of the following models: 550i (407 hp), 535i (306 hp), 528i (258 hp), 523i (204 hp), 520d (184 hp), 530d (245 hp) and 525d (204hp).
All the version of the 5 Series sedan are equipped with BMW's EfficientDynamics technologies, which include BMW’s automatic transmission, EPS Electric Power Steering, Brake Energy Regeneration, gearshift point indicator, active air flaps control, and on-demand operation of ancillary units including a detachable a/c compressor.
For the prices you can see in the list attached, customers will get, as standard, daytime running lights, foglamps, two-stage Adaptive Brake Lights and cruise control complete with a brake initiation function.
The options list will be extensive and will include bi-xenon dual headlights, Adaptive Headlights with variable light distribution, adaptive headlight range control and bending lights, as well as an Enhanced Emergency Call function for ConnectedDrive.
