Audi recently announced UK pricing for the 2010 S5 convertible, the flagship model which is going to be offered with a price tag of 42,245 pounds (49,750 euros) including all taxes and fees. First deliveries will occur in October, according to a release by the German manufacturer.
The car is powered by a V6 TFSI engine that releases 333 PS and 440 Nm of torque between 2,500 and 4,850 rpm. The powerplant is mated to a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission as standard which helps it achieve a fuel consumption rating of 29.1 mpg (8 l/100km) while releasing 224 grams of CO2 per kilometer. As for engine performance, the car goes from naught to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds, with a maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Other features include 19-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, aluminum-look door mirrors, xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, rear LED lamps, special ‘S’ front and rear styling treatments and black painted brake callipers bearing the S5 logo. The S5 cabriolet also comes with a special tweaked "S" sports suspension that "gives the quattro system and sport differential optimum conditions in which to shine, and lowers the S5 Cabriolet body."
The soft-top is capable of retracting in just 15 seconds and can raise again in only 17 seconds, with both operations supported at speeds of up to 31 mph. When the top is in place, the car provides a luggage volume of 380 liters compared to 320 when with the roof down. "Thanks to the standard split/folding rear seat back a maximum capacity of 750 litres can be accessed if required," Audi explained in the release.
