2010 AMI Show Lineup Highlights

Following the announcement made by German carmaker BMW that it will debut the new generation 5 Series Touring at the 2010 Auto Mobil International (AMI) show in Leipzig, two more German carmakers hint to some premieres taking place in their stands at the respective show.

According to rumors surfacing this week, Audi and Volkswagen will have their own debuts. Volkswagen will bring to AMI the new family-aimed Touran, while its subsidiary, Audi, will unveil the sporty facelift for the TT.

Initial information point to the facelifted Touran receiving enhancements to the front end, in order to align it with all the models in the Volkswagen portfolio. Exterior modifications are to be seen in the Audi TT as well, although it is to be expected they will be less extensive. We expect to see more refinements brought to the engine range however.

The Audi line-up for the AMI show includes the new A1 and the A8, while Volkswagen will bring almost its entire range in Leipzig, including its take at the pick-up truck segment, the Amarok.

The other branch of the Volkswagen group, Porsche, will showcase the 911 Turbo S and the Cayenne hybrid.

One of the most anticipated entries on the European market this year, the Camaro, will also be attending the AMI show, in both Cabrio and Coupe guise.

The 2010 Auto Mobil International will open its gates on April 10, at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre in Leipzig.
