2010 Alfa Romeo MiTo Imola Edition

Alfa Romeo MiTo won't be released in the United States because it is too small for this particular market. And that's not all. Alfa Romeo seems to be more focused on non-US markets when it comes to its MiTo model, as the company has just launched a brand new limited edition, exclusively addressed to Japanese buyers. Codenamed Alfa Romeo MiTo Imola Edition, the new series will be limited to 150 units, according to a report by leblogauto.com.

As you can see in the adjacent photos, the car is painted in Imola Yellow and comes with several exterior styling enhancements, including 18-inch wheels, red brake calipers and chromed mirror caps. Inside, the new MiTo boasts Pelle Frau leather, Imola Yellow accents and a tiny identification plaque at the bottom of the center console.

The car is expected to arrive in November, with pricing details yet to be unveiled.

Meanwhile, people are still talking about the hottest MiTo currently in development, the GTA. Rumors surfacing in July hinted that Alfa Romeo plans to discontinue the product, citing the long-discussed economic chaos as the main reason. But company officials actually denied speculation and revealed the MiTo GTA has only been put on hold and production is likely to commence sometimes in the next few years.

“The MiTo GTA has been put on hold. It’s hard to justify building such as high performance car at this present time as the financial crisis means that its not economically viable. And, sadly, it may never be,” a spokesman for Alfa Romeo was quoted as saying by imotormag.com back in July.
