Canadian Acura customers now have another trim level to choose from when buying a TL: the new A-spec upgrade package, which comes as a limited edition option, the full car wearing a price tag of C$51,290 (US$49,985).

The 2010 Acura TL A-Spec includes all the features sold with the TL Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) Technology package, which retails for C$48,490 (US$47,257), C$8,500 (US$8,284) over the base level car.

Already fitted with leather and equipped a sat-nav and 10-speaker surround sound stereo, the A-Spec adds 19-inch alloy wheels shoed with performance tires, a dark chrome grille with matching element in the rear, and a full aero kit.

Aerodynamic changes can be found at the front and rear apron, as well as the side skirts.  Moreover, there are A-Spec logos fitted at the back, as well as on the floor mats. The car comes with a 3.7-liter VTEC V6 engine producing 305 horsepower (227 kW, 309 PS), with a choice of either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.

Safety wise, the Acura TL comes equipped as standard with six airbags and active head restraints, side-curtain airbags, ABS, EBD, VSA, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and daytime running lights.

The luxury car manufacturer has still to reveal how many A-Spec cars would be produced or customers that have previously-purchased vehicles could retrofit them with the newly launched package.
