The basis for the R Line was the Sport version of the Tiguan, over which a new body kit was applied. The kit features body-colored front splitter, mounted below the front bumper along with a unique matt chrome grille section. Body-color sill extensions come complete with matte chrome highlights, leading into the new rear bumper, which features a small diffuser element. In addition, a small spoiler is featured at the top of the rear window.
TDI common rail diesel (140 horsepower and 170 horsepower) and the 200 horsepower 2.0l TSI unit, providing a fuel efficiency rating of 19 mpg (12.3l/100km) in city mode and 26 mpg (9l/100km) in highway conditions.
As we said earlier, the 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan R Line will be available starting June. Prices for the R Line will start at 24,635 pounds for the 2.0l 140 horsepower version and can go to up to 26,305 pounds for the 2.0l TSI version.
