The holder of the “World's Fastest Production Car” title, the Shelby SuperCar Ultimate Aero, is going to receive several improvements for the upcoming 2009 model. These include a 15% increase in horsepower, a revamped front fascia design and a significant change in the interior design department.

The biggest change is the SSC designed 1 piece billet aluminum engine block which improves structural integrity, oiling capabilities and durability, while increasing the SSC Aero's power to 1287 horsepower .

With the more powerful new engine and the monumental power it produces the car will be capable of speeds of 270 MPH, giving the Bugatti Veiron a serious run for its money. To accommodate the Aero during those speeds the nose was redesigned with enhanced aerodynamics and side intakes for an additional 20% more air into the radiators for better cooling.

The 2009 Aero model will also introduce a fiber carbon AeroBrake rear spoiler system which deploys under braking situations. The speed of the spoilers actuation depends by the amount of brake pedal pressure. Also for city driving situation the AeroBrake system can be disactivated by the push of a button if the braking assistance is no longer necessary.

As a round up for the upgrades the Aero has received you can add a completely revised interior which consists in a redesigned dash, exposed carbon fiber dash halves and insent air vents. Running alongside the doorsills are carbon fiber accents that continue on to a redesigned steering column. This one includes a sporty analog speedometer and a tachometer with a sequential shift light that is integrated into the tachometer's needle (pretty cool don't you think?). The new center console also incorporates a digital temperature control unit and tire pressure along with an Azentek PC base Infotainment unit.
