2009 Hyundai i30 Sport Launched in Germany

The Hyundai frenzy continues even after the company unveiled the Genesis Coupe at the Chicago Auto Show with a brand new model, this time launched in Germany. The South Korean released the Hyundai i30 Sport in Germany, a new special edition of the i30 that comes in both five-door and Cross Wagon flavors. According to hyundai-blog, the new series mainly consists of exterior styling modifications, as no engine upgrades were actually introduced.

The Hyundai i30 Sport lineup comes in a single color, Crystal White, and features 10-spoke 18-inch Anthracite alloy plus carbon fiber grille. Other exterior changes are the front and the rear mounted skirts, the rear spoiler and the dual chromed tailpipes mounted on the bumper, the aforementioned source wrote.

Interiors have been customized with several high-quality materials, including black leather for the seats and regular
leather for the steering wheel and shift knob. The Sport range features automatic climate control, six-speaker audio system with USB and AUX connectors and cruise control as standard.

In terms of performance, the five-door i30 boasts a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that develops 126 horsepower while the Cross Wagon comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel unit producing 140 horsepower.

Unfortunately, only a few lucky drivers will have the chance to buy the new i30 Sport as Hyundai will only produce a total of 200 units of the special edition, according to hyundai-blog. Nevertheless, prices seem to be a bit too high for a model featuring only exterior modifications as the i30 hatchback can be purchased for 20,990 euros while the Cross Wagon costs 24,490 euros (German prices).
