2009 Corsa EcoFlex - Vauxhall's Most Economical Car Ever

Vauxhall has just announced the availability of the 3-door Corsa EcoFlex, a new car model - mostly known in Europe as Opel Corsa - that achieves new fuel consumption and CO2 emission milestones, as the British manufacturer mentioned in a release. The Corsa EcoFlex has become the company's most economical car in the history, with a combined CO2 rating of just 105 g/km. Additionally, the car achieves 85.6 mpg (2.74 l/100km) in extra urban fuel cycle, according to data provided by Vauxhall.

The car comes equipped with a 1.3-liter CDTi powertrain that produces 75 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque from 1750 rpm. In terms of performance, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.5 seconds, with maximum speed rated at 104 mph (167 km/h).

There are several enhancement over its predecessor, including aerodynamics upgrades, with the body lowered by 20 millimeters and optimized airflow through front air intakes. The car comes with low-rolling resistance tires (175/70 instead of 185/70) and light 14-inch steel wheels.

In the United Kingdom, the Corsa EcoFlex will be offered in Life and Club trims. Pricing starts at 11,295 pounds, with buyers able to receive a scrapping bonus of up to 2,000 pounds.

This isn't the first EcoFlex model offered by Vauxhall to British buyers as the company is also selling Agila EcoFlex, Astra EcoFlex, Zafira EcoFlex and Insignia EcoFlex.
