2009 BMW Alpina B7 Launched in Geneva

The previously-teased BMW Alpina B7 is now on display at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show, incorporating many of the features we already told you about. The B7 Bi-Turbo is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 engine that develops a maximum power of 507 hp (373 kW) at 5500 rpm, with maximum torque rated at 700Nm between 3000 and 4750 rpm. This unit is mated to a ZF six-speed automatic sport transmission.

Engine performance highlights include 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, with maximum speed electronically-limited to 280 km/h. The vehicle is shoed with Michelin tires, 45/35 R21 front and 285/30 R21 rear. Run-Flat technology is also available.

In terms of exterior styling, the vehicle comes with 20-spoke 21-inch Alpina Classic wheels, as well as with restyled front and rear bumpers and double tailpipes exhaust systems. Switch-tronic steering wheel, Lavalina leather and a Black-Panel LCD screen are the first thing you'll notice when getting inside the car. The interiors have also been customized with luxury wood trim in the form of Myrtle Burl. An optional Alpina Piano Lacquer interior trim with its silver diagonal rhombs is also available.

"With the new BMW Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo, Aplina presents its fourth generation of automobiles based on the BMW 7 Series. Prominent predecessors include the BMW Aplina B12 6.0 and B7, which raised the bar in the high-performance luxury saloon segment. Newly interpreted and in every way state-of-the-art, the B7 Bi-Turbo unites exclusiveness, athleticism and comfort in perfect harmony," Alpina said in a statement for the press at the Geneva Auto Show.
