Remember the 2007 Opel GTC Concept? No, not the Astra GTC. It was a two-door coupe which looked just like the Insignia does today and it got people really excited at the thought of a Calibra model that never came.
Apparently, all the awesome Opel concepts from yesteryear sit in an underground storage facility. Frank Leopold, head of the innovation group in Opel advance development, recently visited the long forgotten concept and stepped inside for a quick look.

It's a shame that Opel never got round to offering a coupe version of the Insignia. We know it's quite a small market, but nothing's better than a large coupe with a twin-turbo engine and all-wheel drive. In case you were wondering, the engine making all that noise is a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 with 300 and 400 Nm, much like the one you get in the Insignia OPC.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
