2005 Ford GT Supercar With 9 Miles on the Odometer Offered for Sale – Photo Gallery

When the Ford GT started production, the American mid-engined supercar added even more mystique to the supercars of the era. But the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Koenigsegg CCR, Ferrari Enzo, and Porsche Carrera GT miss something the Ford GT has – the American touch.

Built bewteen 2003 and 2007, only 4,038 examples of the Ford GT breed were built by the Blue Oval in Wixom, Michigan. This is one of them and one of the best preserved GTs currently on the market. Offered for a cool $359,456 by Ferrari Bentley Lotus of Denver, this is "like new" as it gets.

With 9 miles (15 km) on the clock, the American brute at hand is showroom fresh and in perfect running condition. Finished in the highly sought after Mark IV Red over Ebony color combo, this 2005 Ford GT boasts all four factory options that were made available for the FoMoCo's former halo car. With the EcoBoost twin-turbo V6-powered 2017 Ford GT supercar, we hear that there will be considerable more options to tick off the list.

Compared to its modern succesor, the GT of the Noughties is animated by a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter supercharged Modular V8 with 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm). Power is sent to the rear wheels via a good old 6-speed manual, not the double-clutch job coming as standard on the all-new Ford GT. Despite the humble background of that Modular V8, 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) is doable in just 3.5 seconds.

Considering that the current average price of a Ford GT is $345,960 with an average mileage of 3,224 miles (5,188 km), a 9-mile example of this rarefied genre is nothing short of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the 200 mph club. The highly collectable machine in the adjacent gallery includes the original MSRP label, a spare key, original car cover, battery tender, and manuals. Oh, nearly forgot to mention this one – the plastic that wraps up the GT's retro cabin is from the factory. How about that for a slice of fried gold?
