We’ve seen our fair share of rare Bimmers here, some of them worth the crazy price tags attached to them, some not. Today we’re bringing you yet another rare BMW no because of its age or features but because of its price tag.
The guys from Carscoops found a 2004 BMW X4 4.4i Sport for sale for the amazing price tag of ‘just’ $110,000. Impressed yet? When doing some further inquiries as to what justifies this kind of a price, we found out that there actually is a reason behind this ludicrous amount.
The seller claims the car has only 2,500 miles on the odometer and that... get ready... it’s also armored. That’s right, armored. Apparently it belonged to some sort of drug pin or something like that because I find it hard to justify the need for bulletproof windows and bullet catchers on a car otherwise.
However, the seller doesn’t say to whom this car belonged to. He said only that “this vehicle has been armored to CEN B5 and has less than 2,500 miles on the odometer. The low miles were accumulated before the armoring process began, and the vehicle has had no miles put on it after the armoring process was completed. It was briefly used to transport VIP’s and is in mint condition.”
So, the armoring took place after the car was done transporting VIPs. So what was the point then? Something’s fishy here. Either way, if you’re into the market for armored cars and find this to be a bargain, take a look.
