It appears that the piston of the front master cylinder brake did not receive adequate surface treatment and may be prone to corrosion. Corrosion generates gas and it may not be purged form the cylinder due to the architecture of the reservoir return point.

Needless to say, gas inside the brake circuit is definitely one of the latest things riders want. In case a significant amount of gas is present, the efficiency of the front brakes may be reduced and the risk of a crash becomes extremely high.

Suzuki GSX-R600 2004-2013, GSX-R750 2004-2013 and GSX-R1000 2005-2013 are to schedule a meeting with their dealers for replacing the front brake master and brake fluid. Dealaers are also under a "stop slaes and deliveries" restriction.

Suzuki adds that dealers will be supplied with large amounts of spare parts to make the needed repairs as fast as possible. No number of affected bikes was made public, but with 10 years of Gixxers at risk, you can do the math yourselves.
