The W211 E55 AMG is slowly but surely transforming into a modern classic, whether we're talking about its understated, almost Q-car look or the tire-torturing performance of the supercharged V8 mill under the hood.
In other words, even though the latest AMG-tuned E-Class - especially in 4matic, S-guise - can probably run circles around it on both the racing track and when leaving patches of rubber at the traffic lights, the old geezer can still hold its own.

That's probably one of the main reasons why distinctively-named MBWorld forum member FromM3toE55 still drives, maintains, tunes and most of all cherishes his 2003 E55 AMG.

Some may call it a relic of the supercharged AMGs era, but others, including us, call it a legend.

The amaranthine white color, together with a lowering kit and those stunning-looking HRE 547 rims with black spokes do their best to enhance the look of this, we repeat, modern classic. Take a look for yourself in the small gallery below, where FromM3toE55 has also added a couple of photos from when the car sported different wheels.
