In the world of present-day cars drag racing, things don’t get more badass than the Nissan GT-R scene. With the R35 generation now approaching the end of its life cycle, tuners have developed ridiculously fast machines and we’re here to show you the meanest one out there.
We’re talking about the Alpha Omega GT-R, a Godzilla development coming from AMS Performance. With 4th of July almost upon us, the Alpha Omega has managed to celebrate in style, setting a new world record for the fastest Nissan GT-R.

While we don’t have a video yet, the image above, which comes from the aftermarket specialist’s Facebook page, shows us the car and its amazing 7.485s at 192.97 MPH run. In case you're wondering, the 0 to 60 mph sprint is completed in 1.5 seconds.

Those of you following the drag racing scene know about the Alpha Omega used to hold the GT-R record, but Extreme Turbo Systems' R35 stole the crown last year with a 7.49s at 189 mph pass.

AMS’ Alpha Omega comes with a new 4-liter block for 2015 and, as you can see, we weren’t kidding when we said we don’t believe the tuner’s claim - they said their aim for the new block is to offer superior reliability with only a small hike in performance. Well, it’s more than obvious the team is now waiting for a response from their rivals, so expect the current “2,000 HP Plus” (2,050 WHP) rating to be increased when necessary.

The amusing part

For the record, a stock Nissan GT-R can play the quarter mile game in about 11 seconds. And speaking of stock, it’s amusing to remember that back in 2008 when the R35 made its global debut, Nissan aimed to keep the tuners from touching its halo car by enforcing a strict warranty loss policy.
