2,000 HP Lamborghini Gallardo Catches Fire… Again

Taking a 560 horsepower Lamborghini Gallardo to the very limit requires a big pair. But what if we told you there's a Gallardo out there with almost four times as much power and there's a Russian guy who takes it to the limit and sometimes… bad things happen.

DragtimesInfo is in Greece once more, not only to gloat, but also to set new drag racing records on the straight mile, like you guys have been accustomed to. The now famous twin-turbo Gallardo with 2,005 hp is there as well. After a number of very successful runs, its driver must have though "well, I'd better get one more run before the sun sets" and he did!

At the very end of a blistering 391 km/h run, the twin-turbo Gallardo gives Leonid a big scare. The rear deck is engulfed in blazing fire as the people rush to the end of the Greek runway with fire extinguishers. Nobody is hurt but the damage to the car will take a while to put right.

The same Gallardo, tuned by underground racing, also caught fire last year during the Moscow Mile, after reaching 402 km/h. Looks like you can't safely put 2000 hp in a Gallardo. Who would have though?

Editor's note: Fire engine overtaken by supercars going 200+ km/h… don't see that every day!
