2 Million Mazda 3 Sold

Mazda reports a huge success with the best selling zoom-zoom model known as the Mazda 3 (Axela). The corporation announced that they have built 2 million units in five years and four months, which made the 3 the fastest producing model of all the zoom-zooms.

The 3 is sold in more than 100 countries and has won 94 global automotive awards to date, including "Car of the Year" in several countries. The company thinks that its success is due to the fact that their cars “look inviting to drive, are fun to drive, and make you want to drive them again”. We, on the other hand think that this is down to pure and boring reliability standards that the Japanese car manufacturer offer. Nice try though.

The new Mazda 3 Sedan was launched this year at the LA auto show and it features eye candy looks for grannies, self leveling bi-xenon headlamps with Adaptive Front Lighting System and a Multi-Information Display, which shows tons of data without having to turn your head.

Mazda is used to creating exciting cars, like the MX5 or the RX8, but the 3 doesn't seem to offer that kind of sportiness.

Mazda is still owned by Ford and that shows, because it supplies the underbody and the technology for the brilliant to drive and better looking Ford Focus. That is why we think that the latter is the better one of the bunch.
