Roughly two months ago, we were showing you a teaser photo (blacked out, obviously) of a Finnish all-electric supercar. The name was Toroidion 1MW, and now it has a face.
Just to make things clear, Toroidion is a startup coming from the country that gave Nokia to the world. In case you're not familiar with the badass phones of the '90s and '00s, that's Finland.
What's most significant is that the all-electric supercar was just presented in Monaco during Top Marques and the first set of official photos showed up on the Toroidion's official website.
What we're dealing with is an all-electric megacar packing 1,341 HP (1,000 kW). If your mind is sending flashbacks of the Koenigsegg One:1 right now, it's for a good reason, as the Swedish hypercar cranks the same amount of power, but from a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8.
Watching the first set of pictures, we couldn't help but notice the car's sleek shape and smooth body, despite the fact that the side mirrors look a bit like Shrek's ears. In addition, the window fitting seems a little bit rushed and crude, as they probably tried to have everything ready in time for the launch and the photo shoot.
We're still waiting for powertrain details to emerge but until further intel from Toroidion, you should know that founder Pasi Pennanen wanted to create an "electric powertrain suitable for comfortable daily driving as well as for serious Le Mans racing, where safety and performance come first.”
Other than that, all we know is the drivetrain features lightweight components, lightweight high-performance batteries and a rapid battery-swap feature.
