1991 Toyota Celica 4x4 Rally Built Is for Sale

Long gone are the days of Toyota dominance in the world of rallying. Despite its plans to return in the close future back in the business, that aroma of the 90s won’t be felt anymore. Unless you get yourself one of these - a Toyota Celica GT-Four.

The Toyota Celica GT-Four is basically the high performance version of the standard fourth generation Celica liftback from 1989. All were built at the Tahara plant in the Aichi Prefecture, Japan. They were using a four-by-four drivetrain, with viscous coupling limited slip differential, a slightly wider body and a 10-speaker standard sound system.

However, if that was the street version, what’s here for sale is a Celica GT-Four that has been built for rallying. And it’s FIA approved. It comes with a D2 high performance suspension, a new computer, a rebuilt engine that now makes 380 hp, new paint, stripped out interior, rollcage and racing seats as well as a sparco steering wheel and other racing gear.

The rally car is based on the ST185 Celica built between 1989 and 1993. The standard car featured an air-to-air intercooler and a CR26 twin entry turbo to eliminate exhaust gas interference, being able to squeeze 225 hp and 224 lb-ft out of those four cylinders.

It is also the rarest model to find among the ones made, yet the owner here asks only for $20,000. Go check it out.
