1989 Nissan 240SX With S13 Silvia Front End Hides LS7 Muscle Underhood

Produced between 1989 and 1999, the 240SX is a popular choice for drifting because it’s rear-wheel drive, light, and easy to modify. The 1989 model we’re covering today features an extreme revamp that may offend a few purists, a makeover that kicks off with a small-block engine.

Instead of the venerable 2.4-liter KA engine that came with the car from the factory, chassis number JN1HS34P4KW017456 is rocking the LS7 that premiered in 2005 for the 2006 model year in the Corvette Z06.

Based on the Gen IV small block, the hand-built V8 originally produced 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet (637 Nm) of torque at 4,800 revolutions per minute. Rebuilt with forged connecting rods, 12.5:1 pistons, a more aggressive crankshaft, and many other performance-oriented goodies, the 7.0-liter mill develops way more power than its bone-stock tune. From the E85 fuel pumps to the 102-mm ported intake manifold and throttle body, there’s a lot of stuff that screams “I’m not your average V8.”

The fury hiding underhood is channeled to the limited-slip differential out back through a T56 transmission, a six-speed manual that’s been improved with a six-puck clutch, billet flywheel, and a Sikky aluminum driveshaft.

Augmented with long-tube headers, a Y-pipe setup, and 4.0-inch exhaust piping, the LS7-swapped 240SX blends the front end from the S13 Silvia with a widebody kit from Koguchi. Further modified with a BN Sports Type 2 aero kit and a carbon-fiber vented hood from Chargespeed, this one-off build is fitted with a low-mount GT wing and aftermarket lighting.

Now riding on 18-inch Work S1 three-piece wheels with Project Kics R40 lug nuts and Nitto NT05 rubber boots, the 240SX in the featured video has also been converted to five-lug hubs. Many suspension modifications also need to be mentioned, along with a weld-in roll cage, a six-point racing harness for the Sparco driver’s seat, and the stock passenger’s seat.

Offered with a clean title in the seller’s name, this awesome machine also comes with a Carfax that shows two incidents in 1991 and 1994 and a potential odometer rollback in 2012. At the moment of writing, the highest bid listed on Bring a Trailer is $18,500 with seven days left on the ticker.
