1988 Saleen Ford Mustang Feels Like an Intimate V8 Fox Body Eager to Be Driven

Of course, not everyone has the money, opportunity, or even the passion to invest all the finances and (above all) the time needed to come up with a Fox Body hero. But anyone can show up at the quarter-mile racing location of choice in something that will show everybody they’re a third-gen ‘Stang aficionado through and through.

And if you want to show them who’s a connoisseur, then perhaps an intimate white with blue stripes 1988 Mustang will do the trick. With a Saleen twist, if this classic car dealership from Sherman, Texas, has anything to say about this dreamy idea.

After all, PC Classic Cars has the 1988 “real” Saleen Ford Mustang on its inventory lot. The unit looks just as pristine as if we’ve been transported some 33 years back in time, showcasing its “9L” white paintjob and those gradient blue stripes to anyone interested.

That could certainly stir up the mind and soul of any Fox Body aficionado, but there’s even more. Sure, one might not count the actual odometer readout of 96k miles (around 154,000 km) as a positive sign of things to come. But we’re happy to report these aren’t of the nasty TMU variety, and also show the Saleen Mustang loves to be driven.

Additionally, the company reports there are no rust issues, so we can proceed to the rest of the highlights. These include the 16-inch American Racing Saleen wheels, the original code “FG” gray Saleen interior with bucket seats, the five-speed manual transmission, or the “excellent running” 5.0-liter V8 engine.

The latter is joined by power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, as well as a host of audio enhancements: headers, dual exhaust, and Flowmaster mufflers. Now, there’s just one more step before anyone starts dreaming of some feisty canyon carving: deciding if the $32,500 asking price is the right one or not!
