Everybody has seen or at least heard about a franchise called Transformers. With us since 1984, the Transformers universe expanded to a sizable amount of books, comics, animated series, films and video games, all thanks to the ongoing quarrel for dominance between the Autobots and Decepticons.
As with any other media franchise of this caliber, some enthusiasts went way overboard with their passion for the Transformers saga. Take this guy as a prime example of what we're talking about. His name is Hetain Patel and he's a British artist of Indian descent that loves transforming humanoid robots. One day, Hetain wondered if his old 1988 Ford Fiesta can be revamped from the old, rusty European hatchback it is into an artistic Transformers homage.
By the way, the little red Fiesta was his first car according to AutoBild.de. With the help of his father and brother, Mr. Patel grabbed a good ol' oxyacetylene torch and started cutting the Ford Fiesta, after which he welded bits and bobs in such a way the finished product resembles a robot from planet Cybertron.
The artist says that the whole process took him about three months. Furthermore, Hetain explains that his creation is dedicated to the lower classes of India and his own family, who immigrated from India to England with the proverbial dime in the pocket, but now lives a comfortable life in the United Kingdom.
If you want to see the thing in the flesh, or should we say metal, the scrapheap Autobot Fiesta will be on display until December 22nd at the Galleria Continua art exhibition in Boissy-le-Chantel, France.
