The first ever BMW M6 was built for the US only between 1987 and 1989. We know some might say that during those days, the E24 was actually called M 635 CSi but in the US it was always called M6, paving the way for the contemporary models.
At the time, the European spec car was fitted with the iconic engine from the only supercar BMW ever built, the M1, dubbed M88. It was a 6-cylinder inline unit with a displacement of 3.5-liters that developed 282 HP and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque. The gearbox was a manual 6-speed 5-speed.

Needless to say that the rear differential had a 25 percent limited slip and that this was truly a rare car. Out of the 4,088 units ever built between 1983 and 1988, only 1,767 ever made it to the North American continent.

Finding one that is still in a mint condition might seem like a ludicrous idea but somehow we managed to pull it off. An eBay seller is claiming that he has a 1988 model in his garage with only 5,950 miles on the clock and he's willing to part ways with it for the price of USD158,800.

Whilst this kind of a price tag might make your stomach wretch, looking at the photos he posted will make you reconsider. The car looks absolutely amazing and gives the impression that is was built yesterday.

It has everything you could possibly wish and the leather upholstery is impeccable. It even comes with the original tool kit for those of you that are more pretentious. If you live in the San Diego area, it's worth a look...
