1978 Ford Bronco Camper Conversion Has Cozy Log-Cabin Vibes

We'll sing the praises of ditching your city apartment for a four-wheeled camper and a life on the road all day long. But we'd hazard to guess that it might get awfully cramped inside this 1978 Ford Bronco camper conversion. Sit back and relax as we give you the rundown.

Beyond its obvious differences from other Broncos with its very late 70s looking camper in the rear, it's also notable for sporting the rare "freewheeling" cosmetics package. The package included tricolor striping and black accented exterior trim that still looks as nice as it did in 1978.

Under the hood sits the original 402 cubic inch (6.55 liter) Ford Cleveland V8, which the truck left the factory sporting. So too is the Borg-Warner six-speed manual transmission. Power figures for this model year with the Ford Cleveland motor are 158 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.

As for the camper, it's believed that it's one than less than 200 of this series of Bronco-specific campers ever produced by a company called Hallmark out of Colorado. The camper includes nearly all of the amenities that make any decent camper homely. There's an adorable two-burner stove with ample cupboard space on the left side, with even more storage in an overhead compartment.

The floors appear to be genuine thin sheets of hardwood, and the small couch brings the kitchen, living room, and bedroom together in one compact but efficient use of space. Subtle LED lighting accents the window lining of the camper's interior as well, a nice touch if you ask us.

The camper is built in the pop-up style, meaning it can be lowered or pushed into different positions easily and with only one person. It's the perfect little getaway vehicle for the aspiring road nomad or retiree couple looking for adventure. It can be yours via eBay if you can beat the current bid of $29,100. You certainly can't buy a new Bronco for that kind of money, even the cheapest one.
