1975 Ferrari 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer Up for Grabs

One of 387 Ferrari 365 GT4 BB (Berlinetta Boxer) examples ever built, considered to be extremely rare in the U.S., is set to go under the hammer next month, RM Auctions revealed. Boasting a Pininfarina design and built by Scaglietti, the car will be auctioned on March 12 at the Amelia Island sale.

The 365 GT4 BB remained in production through 1976, before being succeeded by the 512 BB, and it is generally considered a more purposeful machine with higher performance that its successor.

The car is fitted with a 380 bhp, 4,390 cc horizontally opposed, mid-mounted 12-cylinder engine with dual overhead-
camshafts, four triple-choke Weber carburetors, five-speed manual gearbox in rear transaxle, four-wheel independent suspension with unequal-length control arms, coil springs and anti-roll bars, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes.

The low-mileage example in question shows just 33,000 km (20,505 miles) on the odometer and has had a single American owner for 33 years since its importation in 1978.

The car is presented in its original, classic colors of Rosso Corsa with tan interior, complete with Daytona seats with black inserts. It comes with its original factory tool roll and owner's books. This Boxer has also received a recent mechanical inspection.

“Minimally used and regularly maintained, this Boxer runs and drives as one might hope and expect from an unmolested original car,”
a statement from RM Auctions reads.

Highlights of the 1975 Ferrari 365 GT4 BB includes:
  • First, most powerful and desirable Boxer model
  • One of 387 built, extremely rare in the U.S.
  • Low mileage example with a single American owner since 1978
  • Fresh bare-metal repaint, full mechanical inspection
