In the world of restomods, many owners choose to cut corners at times, for instance fitting good old Ford rear ends on machines from the other two members of the Big Three league. Such builds only make us adore creations that stay true to the badge even more and this is what we want to discuss today.
We're bringing you the latest example of a restomod project that hasn't crossed the badge borders, namely a 1972 Dodge Charger with a V10 heart.

Yes, this iconic piece of muscle has been fitted with a Viper engine! The car is still a work in progress project, but the heart transplant has already been done, so the owner wanted to tease us all a little bit.

The man has published videos of his Mopar cocktail, as we've decided to label this build, showing us two things so far. The first video below allows us to see the 8.4-liter engine idling nicely.

While this clip comes in Full HD resolution, its treats are reserved to the details that revolve around the experience mentioned above. However, we also get a second piece of footage. Despite the low quality, this allows us to see the muscle behemoth in motion.

We're talking Plum Crazy here

It appears the owner has gone for a Plum Crazy finish, but we can't be sure yet. If this happens to be the case, the timing is perfect, since Dodge is bringing back the iconic color for 2016.

With the engine now operational, the project could be ready by the end of the year, just in time to meet the Plum Crazy Purple 2016 MY Charger.

Sure, this looks like a memorable build, but there are plenty of details we need to discuss. It all starts with the technical side of the Dodge - from the gearbox and the rear end to the brakes.

Then there's the aesthetic part. We've crossed our fingers, hoping this project will keep a clean look, as that V10 mechanical beast under the hood needs no explaining. The iconic styling cues of this car are more than enough to recommend the project.
